  • Exploring Construction Trades

If you are interested in helping to construct our community’s future, please join us at our first local Exploring Construction Post 2732 Meeting, and bring a friend. Parents more than welcome to attend. Exploring-Logo   hchb-exploring-card Exploring is a program geared toward teaching students more about the construction trades. Interested students should talk with their guidance counselor or principle for more information The Hancock County Homebuilders Association and its associated constructors have recognized a steep decline in the availability of qualified professional individuals that are capable of sustaining the construction industry for the future of our community. In response to this apparent need for skilled and qualified professionals, we are starting a group called “Exploring Construction Trades Post 2732,” targeted toward individuals who are at least 14 years of age but not yet 21. We will be meeting on a monthly basis with presentations from local industry professionals as well as visiting local construction job sites. The intent of this group will be to inform and inspire young men and women about the professions of building construction in an attempt to help fulfill the present and future local demand. Some of these careers include: • Safety (Safety is always #1) • Carpentry – Rough and Finish • Concrete Construction • Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning • Project Management • Electrician • Masonry • Architecture/Design/Engineering • Structural Steel/Welding • Drywall • Painting • Flooring Installer • Roofing/Siding • Excavation/Heavy Machinery
